Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
This policy describes how Vivace App Studio (“we”, “our”) handles your data when you use the Ventilate mobile app (“the App”).

2. General principles
Ventilate is designed to work on your device, without a user account. Your home profile data stays local; we do not operate a remote database for your personal home data.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.
We may add features over time that rely on additional third-party tools (for example push notification delivery, crash reporting, or further anonymised usage analytics). When we do, we will update this policy to name any new providers and explain what they process. We will not use new tools for advertising or to sell your data. Where the law requires your consent — for optional analytics, certain notification types, or similar — we will ask in the App before enabling them.
3. Data collected
Data you enter in the App
- Home profile (building type, room layout)
- Window details (orientation, exposure, type)
- Fan inventory
- Manually entered indoor temperatures
- Preferences (notifications, units, language)
This data is stored locally on your device (SwiftData on iOS, Room on Android).
Data collected automatically
- Location (city / coordinates): used to fetch weather forecasts from Open-Meteo on iOS and Android. When the App refreshes forecasts, it sends your approximate coordinates to Open-Meteo’s servers. Your home profile is not sent to Open-Meteo.
- Ventilate Pro (optional): if you subscribe, the App may also request air quality, pollen, UV index, and humidity from Open-Meteo’s Air Quality API for your location.
- Anonymous app user identifier: a stable random ID stored on your device and sent to RevenueCat so we can manage subscriptions and recognise returning users. It is not your name or email.
- Anonymised usage data via TelemetryDeck (screens visited, aggregated interactions), with no direct personal identifier.
- Crash reports, where applicable.
Data we do not collect
- No account, no required email
- No advertising tracking
- No sale of data to third parties
4. Purposes of processing
We use this data to:
- Calculate ventilation advice tailored to your home and weather
- Notify you of recommended transitions (open, close, fan)
- Display temperature history on your device
- Provide optional Ventilate Pro features (outdoor air quality context)
- Manage in-app subscriptions and restore purchases
- Improve the App’s stability and usability
5. Third-party services
| Service | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Open-Meteo | Weather forecasts (iOS and Android). Ventilate Pro: air quality, pollen, UV, humidity via the Air Quality API. Weather data is used under CC BY 4.0. | open-meteo.com/en/terms |
| Apple (App Store, iOS) / Google (Play Store, Android) | App distribution, in-app purchase and subscription billing (payment is processed by the store; we do not receive your card details) | apple.com/legal/privacy · policies.google.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription entitlement verification and restore, using an anonymous customer ID | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| TelemetryDeck | Anonymised usage analytics | telemetrydeck.com/privacy |
6. Legal basis (GDPR)
- Performance of the service: providing the requested ventilation advice
- Consent: notifications, analytics (where required)
- Legitimate interest: improving the App and fixing issues
7. Retention
- Local data: while the App is installed; deleted if you uninstall or clear app data
- Analytics data: limited duration on TelemetryDeck’s side (see their policy)
- Support emails: up to 3 years after closure
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing.
Contact: [email protected]
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Security
Local data benefits from iOS hardware encryption. Network communications (weather, analytics) use secure connections (HTTPS/TLS).
10. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when the App evolves, when we add or replace a third-party service, or when the law changes. The last updated date at the top of this page shows the current version.
If we make a material change to how we handle your data (for example a new category of data sent to a third party, or a new purpose such as a different analytics provider), we will update this page and, where required, notify you in the App or ask for your consent before the change takes effect.
